UNBELIEVABLE GIFT FROM NANCY GRACE AND OTHERS

Most unbelievable day arranged by Sheryl McCollum of the Hapeville PD (West Atlanta) where she is CSI and also Director of the National Cold Case Investigative Research Institute. Nancy Grace graciously invite us into her home where she records her very well-known Crimeonline Podcast on Sirius 111 every weekday at noon. http://www.crimeonline.com/podcast/
It was unbelievable. Nancy, Joe Scott Morgan and Sheryl and I all discussed Brittany's case as well as national issues. All of them will forever have a place in my heart!

More on the story as soon as we know play date. In addition CBS Atlanta's Daniel Wilkerson and his photographer spent hours with us as did Leigh Egan who is a crime-fighting journalist and editor who specializes in breaking news and investigative true crime coverage. She has her own website CRIMEFEED as well as reports for Nancy Grace's Crimeonline.
My heart is so full today of all the gifts. I can never repay them!!!!!

16TH CARAVAN TO CATCH A KILLER-MOM''S 185000 MI. MISSION OF LOVE-NOW NEW PHASE W/DNA PHENOTYPE IMAGE OF POSSIBLE SUSPECT

I am on my 16th CARAVAN TO CATCH A KILLER  tour's, currently visiting Odessa, TX. These tours are now my 14 year labor of love in honor of murdered daughter, Brittany Phillips (raped/suffocated Tulsa, OK 2004 --10-4-85 to 10-4-04).  (going to El Paso next)

Tour 16 is the inaugural tour with hood re-wrapped with our new DNA phenotype 3-D image of Brittany's possible killer . Though tours started to:
*help solve her murder
*educate communities about sexual assault/homicide law change
*giving voice to  unsolved homicides across the US

THIS TOUR introduces how  a new forensic tool,  DNA 3-D phenotype image that has given our case new life. Not many PDs are using this yet.  My detective was able to get a grant, submit crime scene DNA to  Parabon Snapshot and within 3 months received an image. Tulsa media coverage of the image generated more than 45 tips in 48 hours

Visiting Odessa/other Texas cities  is important for my 16th road trip, (10 years, 185000 miles thru 48 States with 165 media stories in 48 States in  3 different wrapped SUVs) because Odessa and other Texas cities are connected to Oklahoma through crisscross of our highways and because large Border States with vast wilderness can create refuge for criminals.

CARAVANS were birthed when , regionally in 2007, more than 800 suspects DNA did not match our crime scene DNA (since then 3000 regional suspects & a million in CODIS with no match). Some suggested her killer may have moved on.  I knew I had to get her story beyond OK. Through the unbelievable donation of a wrap to my car (now 3 wraps), CARAVANS BEGAN.

It is my hope, now with an image, as I cover the US again, this picture will increase tips.
In each city, I talk to media, stop by police and Sherriff departments, travel around the city talking to people. Along with topics described above, now in the #METOO era, I am pleading for  # HERTOO-(sexual homicide victims that no longer have voice) to get more attention, especially related to laws.

These 14 years are a labor of love woven through tears . People met at rest stops, hugs given, thumbs up as someone drives by, people sharing prayers from many different religions or a $20 squeezed into my closed fist, all energize me to keep on. Gazing upon Brittany's smile each day as I step into my car, does, at times, have me tell her story through a veil of tears. Yet it warms my heart knowing Brittany, my dancing pony princess, her long blond curls framing her angelic face, and intense dark brown eyes, stares from the sides of my car, in many ways saying "listen to my story, help protect other families from this never ending loss".

TIRED, SAD, MEMORIAL MOVES SLOW, BUT I MOVE ON

Thank you Phoenix for all your kind words when I stopped somewhere. I have been here 3 days. No media responded to me so I must move on but I do thank those who acknowledged me. That made my day. On to San Diego. I am trying not to be sad but only 3 stories in 3 weeks is disheartening and makes me feel forgotten. We used to get 3-5 each week. If I could travel for as long as I wanted, this would not matter. But a week out cost me almost $1000 so 4 weeks out costs $4000. I never mind spending my own money but funds are limited. So $1000 per story is pretty high... I AM SORRY BRITTY. I KEEP TRYING.

CARAVAN TO CATCH A KILLER TOUR #15

Albuquerque/ Sante Fe THANK YOU. You have been great at rest stops, downtown, on the road...letting me know you saw us, asked abut our story. And today Channel 13 spent time downtown with me, giving us the gift of a story. It will either air tonight or tomorrow. The two times I have been here I always feel welcomed. And to all the people on I-40 driving to Phoenix--at rest stops and stores. Your coming up to me, offering hugs, prayers etc. ALL truly made my day. I am forever grateful

HOUSTON WILL ALWAYS BE IN MY HEART

What a great gift was blown in by winds that followed me to Houston. Angela Chen and her photographer spent more than an hour with me getting material to craft their story about Brittany and the CARAVAN at the FOX26 Station. The end result was a passionate, powerful poignant story. Their artistry created a story that had focus on the important aspects of CARAVAN tours. How impressive and what a great way to start the 15th CARAVAN tour. Angela, her photographer and FOX26 will always have a place in my heart. And today I have already had about 1000 hits on this website and multiple honks, waves and people coming up to me.

CARAVAN TO CATCH A KILLER TOUR STARTS MAY 1-MOTHER'S LOVE

I plan to get on the road for my 15th CARAVAN TO CATCH A KILLER tour May 1, 2017. It breaks my heart it has been more than a year. I am self-employed as a contractor with the Veterans so I do not get vacation time. Thus I'll go out two weeks along southern States southern border, into Florida and back along their northern border. I'll work for a week, then back out for another 2 weeks to NE States starting in Indianapolis, hopefully hitting some states that still don't take DNA at arrest. I'm used to being self-funded but any help IS appreciated whether it is with media contacts or gas. This will make year 10 of doing CARAVANS and almost 13 since her murder and little or no National news. IF NOTHING ELSE PLEASE SEND EMAIL, SNAIL MAIL AND MORE TO NATIONAL MEDIA ABOUT A MOTHER TRAVELLING FOR 10 YEARS ACROSS 46 STATES COVERING 162000 MILES SO SHE COULD SHARE HER STORY TO HELP SOLVE HER DAUGHTER'S MURDER AND EDUCATE COMMUNITIES ABOUT LAW CHANGE THAT WILL HELP KEEP OUR WOMEN AND CHILDREN SAFE

MY HEART HURTS

Heading to Bowling Green for last chance story in Kentucky. People in cities, on road great but no media contact from multiple attempts to contact. Home for a week or so to work, replenish funds, then back out to Northeast states. Still trying to get Brittany's name on our DNA at Arrest bill that passed after eight years hard work. Starting at year 4 of fight, I asked every year thereafter. Just received email from ProTem,...too late??. 1) I asked prior to the bill being drafted this year but somehow the Assistant didn't ask until too late. 2)I didn't do these 8 years for the name on the bill but it hurts they didn't think of it anyway. ..**Yes the law being passed is most important, but over years I watched at least 5 of my "family" of murdered children get a)their murder nationally publicized, then solved and their murdered child's name on their States law. I am only human and want that legacy for my child...And now I sit here with 1 story in 1.5 weeks........152000 miles and 152 stories but no national overage, no solving and now no name on law.........my heart hurts

Clock is ticking

Beautiful drive to Casper. Now it has been Lincoln Nebraska and Denver /Cheyenne area with more than 20 emails sent out in each city, no responses to multiple emails I sent out every night. Have dropped off flyers at PD and such. My queries/emails are the same (better edited) to ones that got m 10-14 stories on a CARAVAN but 4 days out and no response, not one response. To make it more difficult, my Computer is freezing up. Makes it slow to get emails out --up late every nite to do the emails(hotel computer always in use) Cell Phone having problems, hope calls weren't thwarted. Year 10,11, harder than others=detective is almost non communicative, media local and regional more quiet. Getting stories always made the rest of the year better. Now it feels like one more thing taken. All the things that helped me over the years to keep the strength, recharge me, one by one are gone. Slowness would be okay if I had more weeks out like I used to= but clock is ticking....and then I'll have to wait another year, another year older--twisting my heart. I can handle anything--- Don't mind the aloneness on the road, the long hours of email work or silence in the hotel................when a story is the end result. MORE SO THAN EVER, PLEASE EMAIL WRITE CALL NATIONAL NEWS. Create a call event....??? Her story, many womens' stories are dying without more exposure. Th
is will become ice, not cold. If yu do write natl, please let me know so I can follow up. 2 people so far, from last post said they did or will. Yes seeking tips but about educating people that all DNA at arrest will do is save lives......I ask so little all year...BUT Thanks to those in Ft Collins who came up, including the infectous disease doc and the man who moved his family to the US from australia and who shed a tear...the young photographer, the mother who lost a daughter to drunk driver. You all made my day
